Using the “We Believe” curriculum developed by our denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Presbyterian Church of Madison offers classes for children aged 4 through grade 8. The curriculum covers Bible stories from the book of Genesis through the New Testament. Classes are held on the second floor of the Parish House.
All church school children gather in the sanctuary for the start of the 10:15 a.m. worship service. They leave for their classrooms after the Children’s Message and before the passing of the peace.
Classes are held for the following age groups: Children ages 4 through 1st grade. Children in grades 2nd to 5th. Grades 6th to 8th (class will meet every other week) On the second Sunday of the month, children have a music lesson with our Choral Director, Laura Kosmich, during class time. Familiar Christian songs are sung.
Our Sunday school is always open to newcomers, so come join in the fun and friendship. For children younger than four, our newly renovated nursery, complete with toys, games and books makes playtime fun (see below). We provide professional childcare with a youth member of the church also there to help.
