Session is very pleased to introduce a brand-new adult education curriculum this year called, The Wired Word. The Wired Word relates current events to Scripture, challenging you to apply your faith to everyday life. Adult Christian Ed. elder Susan Lincoln will be leading this study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in the church parlor.
Want to
participate, but can't be there at 9:00 AM? Please see Sue or Pastor Nancy about starting up your own group, at a time that's convenient for you. We would love to have many small groups getting together at whatever time works best for you.
Madison Presbyterian Women gather for fellowship and Bible study every second Tuesday at 7:30 pm in the Parlor. We enjoy each other’s company, learn about our faith and contribute to Meals on Wheels and other meaningful mission projects. Members also have opportunities to attend national or regional Presbyterian Women conferences and retreats. These times of fellowship and study bring us closer. All area women interested in friendship and faith are welcome to join Madison Presbyterian Women. Call the office for information.
Speaking about spiritual formation, Rabbi Rami Shapiro said famously, "You are born in the image of God, but living out the likeness of God is a choice." Transformation into the likeness of God is at the very heart of our lives, indeed, it is the purpose of our lives. Spiritual formation can be defined as a process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others. This is a lifelong journey, a long obedience in the same direction.
Every third Monday of the month, the women of The Presbyterian Church of Madison study spiritual formation, using Dallas Willard's classic, The Spirit of Disciplines: Understanding How God Changes Lives. The congenial nature of the small group creates a warm and inviting atmosphere where prayer and honest questions are encouraged.
All women, friends and members alike, are invited to attend. For more information, contact Noel Forlini at jforlini@drew.edu. Hope to see you there!
