![]() More than mere entertainment, films can provide us space to pause and meditate on our purpose and place in life. Perhaps the appeal of good films is that they help us make sense of the world even while they provide a temporary escape from it. We can anticipate finding God's presence in the movies we watch for a truthful telling of the human drama can voice the divine as well. Our world, after all, is God's world.

Paper Clips (2004) is a moving documentary feature film,
which is inspiring, educational, and thought provoking. Film critic
Dan Berman writes, “It began as a lesson about prejudice…what
happened next was a miracle.” Paper Clips takes us on a journey to
Whitwell Elementary School in Tennessee where a group of elementary
students developed a truly celebrated and thoughtful project. These
brilliant students came up with a way to remember the fathers,
mothers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandfathers and
grandmothers who were slaughtered in concentration camps in Nazi
Germany well over a half-century before. What started out as a goal
to receive six million paper clips (one for each victim), actually
turned into an outpouring of support with well over twenty-seven
million of them. Please join us to view this stirring film!
